This was a project where we tried to convert a digital multiplayer game into a standard nondigital board game. The collaboration took place entirely online. Most play sessions were done individually in our respective locations, using placeholder figures for game pieces and mock up boards.

We chose to try to re-design the game Bomberman from the original '98 and Xbox Live versions. This project really helped us think out of the box for translating games across the digital plane.

I think we were most successful in capturing the spirit of trapping other players in Bomberman and setting up large chain reactions to defeat your enemies. Unfortunately, the speed had to be sacrificed for the strategy, but it still made for a very interesting play dynamic and a very entertaining game.
